This SoundTouch 300 comes with HDMI in and an ARC-enabled output with 4K pass-through as well as Dolby Digital, as well as DTS decoding. The other ports are optical digital as well as a 3.5mm subwoofer input. Unfortunately, there’s no space for either a 3.5mm input or headphone connector.

The process gets a bit more complicated If you decide to go with an optical audio output instead (if your TV doesn’t support the ARC). We tried setting up the ST300 using a TV that supports this type of setup and couldn’t get anything out of it even if we tried.
We’ve set up several soundbars and sound bases in this manner but the Bose did not like it. After a few hours of being confused and frustrated, we ended up giving up. In truth, if your television does not allow HDMI that has ARC support, then you’re better off looking for a different model.
It will get there in the end However, the performance is excellent There’s a lot to love with the ST300. It is a great performer in delivering dialogue while keeping the center-placed voice clear and crisp. On the other hand, certain content dialogue may sound a bit harsh, but at least there’s no hint of the sibilance.
Although the soundbar doesn’t produce any false surround, however, it paints an expansive and captivating soundscape. It’s especially effective when it comes to live sports, for example, coverage of Anthony Joshua’s title defense was able to put me in Manchester Arena.
This immersive experience works great in movies too. When Watney rides over the Martian surface while listening to the tunes of Donna Summer’s Hot Stuff (The Martian) There’s the perfect amount of club music in his futuristic Dune Buggy.
